Showcases & Production
Allison Elizabeth Burns has been self-producing for over a decade, working solo and with different collectives. She enjoys creating opportunities for artists that she believes in to show their work to a larger audience, and mix with other artists. Her latest showcase, For the Love of Dance, was a multi-style dance showcase presented at Arts Court Theatre, Ottawa, in May 2019. In 2017 in Ottawa she produced the multidisciplinary showcase, How to Live Forever as a fundraiser. In 2018 she co-produced the contemporary dance showcase, Inside Out, with Chelsea Passmore, thanks to the support of the Ottawa Dance Directive.
Allison has worked for several dance and theatre companies in a variety of roles. She has been the artistic manager of the Ottawa StoryTellers and an administrative assistant for Arzoo Dance Theatre. She is a co-founder and former artistic producer of the Bouge d’ici Dance Festival. She founded, produced and hosted the dance podcast, Dirty Feet. Allison was the communications director for the 25th anniversary of the St-Ambroise Montreal Fringe Festival. She has also worked for the Segal Centre, Centaur Theatre and MainLine Theatre.
